13 points submitted 4 months agoI gonna get downvoted but I feel that I have to say this once, Cursed Child is not a book it is a SCRIPT for a STAGE PLAY. The reason the majority of the population hates it is because they read it expecting a novel (mostly the marketing fault) and what they got was a bunch of dialogue and some stage directions.As an actor I have read more plays than I can count and I cannot tell you enough that you can entirely judge a play by it script, the script is only one facet of a play and by not seeing it you miss out on seeing what it full potential is.That being said, did I enjoy reading it? Not really, it seemed a bit silly and contrived but I am oh so excited to see it live next year. The script is brimming with potential for the actors to really bring some complexity to the roles and I can wait to see how they accomplish the special effects and scene changes.There is a reason the show won 9 Olivier awards (the most ever won btw) hydro flask bottle, 6 Tonys and has been majorly selling out since it opened over TWO YEARS ago.That being said, I have a very open mind and if, when I see it next year, I find that there actually no magical redemption from a live production I change my tune.captaincoverly 1 point submitted 5 months agoSome info: My screen does this pretty regularly upon removing a hdmi cable, closing the laptop as in the video usually fixes it, sometimes it sticks around for a while.
